Dennerle Calanus FD Organic: Food for discus fry ?

 

The Calanus FD Organic Dennerle is composed of Calanus finmarchius, a species of Arctic zooplankton.

Regularly using the freeze-dried foods as food for my discus fry;

When the German brand has developed its new range of’foods for aquarium fishes, I could not help myself but to test the Dennerle Calanus FD Organic.

This plankton lyophilized of a size of 3-4 mm is known its many virtues that I presented in the article dedicated to the JBL pure Plankton.

Calanus FD Organic Dennerle a trick tested on fry's of 5-6 cm

During a visit in Germany, the technical team of Dennerle suggested to me to do a small test with their Calanus finmarchius…

After my tests, I share with you a little trick very practical to feed your fry that will reached 4-5 cm.

Even if plankton lyophilized presents numerous advantages, It remains a small inconvenience that resides in the floatting of ’food.

That one became very light due to the process of manufacturing, float a long time. This may interfere the envy of youth discus not knowing yet this type of food.

To remedy this, find a syringe in which you will place the quantity of Calanus necessary.

Replace the piston in order to suck a small amount of water

Then suck a small amount of water (In which you can add vitamins, or even medications)

Then create a vacuum as shown on the picture.

Pull the piston and block the syringe in same time in order to create vacuum

The’freeze-dried food will re-hydrate and will be able to flow…
