Our hobby has lost one of its most ardent supporters. It is with sadness that I inform you that the Kuo Yun Kuan international judge left us.
There are persons that mark the history of the discus. Kuo Yun Kuan is part of these.
With this page I wanted to simply do a tribute to him...
Kuo Yun Kuan was born in 1945 in Indonesia. It is only in 1968 that he moved to Taiwan. It is in 1975 that he will launch with the discus to quickly start raising them.
Become in love with discus, Kuo Yun Kuan has never ceased to travel around the world. He has given a large number of conferences, visit farms or participate as international to a multitude of international constests.
It was also during an edition of the World Discus Championship that i first meet him. Impossible not to notice him... He was inseparable from his cap and his camera.
He contributed a lot to our hobby by writing many articles and several books such as "Taiwan discus", or even "Malaysia discus. 1 "and"Malaysia discus. 2 ".
He did part of the iconic judges of the Duisburg discus show or the Napoli Aquatica Discus Show.
I will always keep his image in my head constantly walking in the contest to take beautiful pictures.
I thank him again for our discussions dedicated to the first red discus.
During competitions, Kuo Yun Kuan and Cüneyt Birol had some complicity. A little game had even established between them : They stole portraits of each other, both armed with their cameras.
I still thank Cüneyt for these shots.
Those wishing to honor him are free to do it here and leave a message below.
Keep in memory these moments of him...

Great loss for the Discus World. Besides being a real discus expert and the only discus phtographer, he was a great friend. He will be missed deeply.
He was always very polite, did not hurt anybody’s heart and very humble. Even though he possesed great accumulation of informations and knowledge, he never bragged about this. His way of action taught us how to be a real gentleman.
Even though he is physically not with us any more, his light will keep on enlighting our way.
Rest in Peace my dear friend.
Cüneyt, You found the right words to describe him…
